City of Poznań - place of UECBV2021
Poznań - the capital of the Greater Poland Voivodeship is an important economic, commercial, scientific, cultural and tourist center of western Poland. The most important trade fair center in the country is located here.

Poznań is one of the oldest and largest cities in Poland. A visit to the capital of Wielkopolska is an opportunity to visit a place inextricably linked with the beginnings of Poland. It was here that Duke Mieszko I had his castle. It was probably also here that he was baptised in 966, joining the ranks of the medieval rulers of Europe.
When visiting Poznań, it's impossible to miss the Old Market Square with its beautiful Renaissance town hall. There's also the Rogal Museum of Poznań, Lake Malta which is regarded as one of the best and most beautiful professional regatta courses in Europe, the former Imperial Castle and the Old Brewery - a centre of commerce, culture and education recognised in 2005 as the best medium-sized shopping centre in the world.
Poznań also has hundreds of atmospheric cafes, clubs, pubs and restaurants scattered all over the city. Among them there are several establishments distinguished in the prestigious yellow culinary guide "Gault & Millau Poland".
Also noteworthy is Poznan's dialect which is one of the most characteristic in Poland. It is full of borrowings from the German language that were incorporated during the Prussian partition.
